John C. Corbelli, M.D.

John Corbelli, MD graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine in 1979 followed by completing his internship and internal medicine residency through the medical school in 1982. Dr. Corbelli went on to the Cleveland Clinic to perform a three year fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases, including training in invasive and interventional cardiology.

Dr. Corbelli has been in practice since 1985 and is board certified in Internal Medicine and in Cardiovascular Diseases, with a subspecialty certification in Interventional Cardiology. He is a Fellow in the Society of Cardiology and Interventions and holds the position of Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at SUNY at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.

Dr. Corbelli is skilled in the field of invasive and interventional vascular procedures, including angiograms and angioplasty/stent placement in the heart, performing them from either the femoral, radial or brachial approach. He has acquired skill in invasive and interventional peripheral vascular procedures, including atherectomy (plaque removal) techiniques of laser and Silverhawk for the legs, with the ability to perform procedures below the knee and procedures for critical limb ischemia in people with threatened limb loss. Dr. Corbelli established the Peripheral Arterial Disease Program, interpreting CT and MR angiograms to diagnose the extent of peripheral arterial disease before performing a procedure, and offering patients access to the Preventive Cardiology Program which he helped to establish in 1987 with one of the first Lipid Clinics in the country. He has also acquired skills in the clinical use and interpretation of CT angiography of the heart.
