JoAnne Cobler, MD graduated from the University of Rochester, School of Medicine and Dentistry, Rochester, New York. She graduated with Distinction in Research in 1983. Dr. Cobler completed her fellowship at Strong Memorial Hospital, in Rochester, NY.
Dr. Cobler joined Buffalo Cardiology and Pulmonary Associates in 1989, and is a partner in the practice.
Dr. Cobler is very involved in women's health issues, particularly as relate to women and heart disease. Dr. Cobler does extensive speaking on the subject, and is well recognized for her efforts.
Dr. Cobler gives frequent lectures to the community, community groups, and professionals, on Women and Heart Disease. She gives lectures concerning heart healthy lifestyles and the risk factors and prevention of heart disease. Frequent topics that she has presented on include, mitral valve prolapse, heart arrhythmias and palpitations, congestive heart failure, hypertension and high cholesterol among other topics. She stresses the importance of prevention given the fact that cardiovascular disease is preventable.
