Dr. Matthews is the recipient of the Best Doctors in Cardiovascular Disease Award, from Kaleida Health in 2005. He is also recognized for his contributions to the Physician Assistant Program. D'Youville College honored Dr. Matthews as Preceptor of the Year in 2003.
