Brian J. Riegel, M.D.

Dr. Riegel joined Buffalo Cardiology and Pulmonary Associates in 2003 and practices clinical and non-invasive cardiology. Board certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Nuclear Cardiology, Dr. Riegel has served as Director of Nuclear Cardiology since 2005, and offers expertise in the areas of nuclear stress testing and cardiac  positron emission tomography (P.E.T) in addition to transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, stress echocardiography,cardiac CT angiography and carotid vascular imaging.

A western New York native, Dr. Riegel attended St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute and Canisius College prior to obtaining his medical degree from the State Univerisity of New York at Buffalo in 1996. Internship, residency and chief medical residency in Internal Medicine were completed at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center of Boston, MA. and he returned to the University at Buffalo for cardiology fellowship training. He is now a Clinical Instructor for U.B. School of Medicine.

Dr. Riegel was elected District Councilor for the New York State Chapter of American College of Cardiology in 2011, an organization aimed at improving medical care through educational activities and grass roots patient advocacy initiatives.  He is also currently serving as President-Elect for BCPA.  Other interests include physical fitness and Dr. Riegel recently completed a Tough Mudder challenge!

Dr. Riegel is currently accepting new patients at the Williamsville office and has affiliations with Kaleida Health (Millard Fillmore Suburban and Buffalo General Medical Center) as well as the Catholic Health System and Catholic Medical Partners.
